Drinks are cool here but I think it's a little over hyped and pricey for what you get
Good was good and drinks were exotic and good also. Service was good and staff was friendly. Restaurant is very pretty and nicely decorated. I recommend this place
The drinks are always so so so good. I love the little birdy drink but I feel like they changed the recipe recently. May have to go back and make sure . Got free drinks for my birthday which was so sweet. Good is generally pretty good. Definitely a Chicago must try!
Food - There are dishes from here that I still think about to this day. There is a trumpet mushroom 'bacon' deal that I am obsessed with. This is saying a lot because I don't even like mushrooms. Steak is always spot on and the cocktails are whimsical. Service - Always thoughtful and attentive. I went here alone once and my server was so kind and in no way made me feel bad for being there solo on a work trip. Ambiance - Flowers, drama, lighting. It's hard to get a bad angle of this place.
Brunch is always a good idea at Machine Engineered. Who doesn't want to go to one of the most esthetically pleasing restaurants to dine in. The ambiance is so romantic depending on what side you sit on the on the other side it's just as beautiful. You can come with the girls, yourself, or on a nice date. Service is always good. All staff are pretty pleasant and friendly. I ordered the omlet and it was soooo good! I'm literally craving it again. You can't go wrong with an Omlet, spinach, and a side of fruit. I can't wait to go back for another brunch.
Machine: We came here for brunch and it was a perfect girls brunch! Food: we got a short rib hash, chicken tacos, a breakfast hash, and the strawberry french toast. The short rib hash was SO good. I hope it stays on the brunch menu! (We went about a month ago now). Drink: We had the breakfast at tiffany's and the boozy coffee drink that came with the brunch menu. Both were very good and strong in the best ways. The service was quick and our waitress was super helpful with recomendations. She even brought us complimentary small shooter drinks and a card to help us celebrate the birthday girls in our group. The only thing I wish there was is music! It felt like the place needed some good music to really get the vibes going. Also, the lady with the flower cart never came back to us and wasn't very helpful when we were trying to decide on flowers that weren't super expensive.
It was our regular friends gathering and my friend recommended this place. She already visited the Machine and had the best impressions! And I can definitely say she was right! This place offers not just delicious food, but also excellent service and ambiance. The menu feature a variety of high-quality dishes. Ingredients were fresh and the presentation of each dish was thoughtful and appealing. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable (forgot her name :-( )and also eager to provide recommendations and answer all our questions The ambiance is BEAUTIFUL with attention to detail in decor, lighting, and music to create a memorable dining experience. Overall, my experience was 10/10 and I would recommend this place to everyone!
My first visit to this place left me thoroughly IMPRESSED. The floral-themed interiors of this cocktail bar, coupled with its charming flower shop, provided a unique ambiance. While I initially made a reservation, I later realized that on a Thursday evening, walk-ins are feasible, particularly on weekdays. Situated in the heart of Wicker Park, Machine Engineered is renowned for its innovative cocktail program. My sister and I ordered the Windy City Mushroom Risotto, Mediterranean Bowl, and Buccatini alla Gricia (sans bacon), all of which were decently good, showcasing a diverse range of food options. The cocktail menu is quite elaborate, featuring two distinct sets: "Machine Beloved" and "Communal Cocktails." We tried Birdsong and The Maverick from the former set, each boasting unique flavors and served in creatively shaped glasses. In the communal cocktails, we opted for Breakfast at Tiffany's. Communal cocktails are designed for sharing(2-6 people), and had a charming presentation like a diamond-shaped container adorned with a pink rose, which people can take home, thanks to a small water enclosure ensuring its freshness for a few days. While the cocktails are bit on the pricier side I would definitely come back for the experience. The server recommendations were good. The service is quick. A must- visit !
I have come here many times and this is one of my favorite group cocktail places - Especially their happy hour specials! You can get half off their group cocktails and omg they are so cute. This is the perfect girls night spot because their large format cocktails come in the most unique presentation and all taste just as good as they look. I love this place and their servers /host are super friendly. The breakfast at Tiffanys and the black heart drinks are my favorite. Their lychee one is also delicious - basically you can't go wrong. They have a cart of flowers you can even buy and create your own bouquet - so cute for a little birthday, anniversary, celebration, dates, etc.
This joint was recommended to me by my Yelp sis Latrice A. We went here for brunch meeting to catch up and I am glad we did. Machine is a great addition to my brunch outing. The space itself is adorable. Latrice and I sat at a two top table under a gorgeous fall tree. The wall behind us was lined with while flowers and lights, while there was marble all over the place. The space is divided into a dining area and a separate dining and bar area. There is also outside dining that looks great, but too cold right now to experience it. There was a woman walking around with a flower cart. At the time I did not know what this was about, but discovered that this was a regular part of the experience. They have certified Florists who will make a floral arrangement for you at your table. Back to brunch. For my entrée, I got the Glazed Pork and Potato Hash (Korean glaze, caramelized kimchi, sautéed spinach, garlic aioli, and sunny side up eggs) and the Strawberry Shortcake French Toast (Brown Sugar Strawberries, Amaretti Crusted Honey Custard Brioche, Coriander-Cardamom Cream Cheese Frosting, Strawberry Syrup and Orange Zest). Both of these dishes were very good and warmed up nicely the next day as leftovers. To wash it all down, I got a Rose Prosecco called Tullia from Veneto, Italy. That was very nice and I definitely would (and did!) do it again. I had such a good time there that I took The Doctor and The Queen there for their Happy Hour. Machine only does Happy hour on Fridays from 4-6 pm. The menu is limited in terms of food choices: three choices of a Tofu Volcano, Mediterranean Bowl and Cacio Pepe (Bucatini Pasta, Hook's Parmesan and a Pepper Blend). You can get protein added to any of these dishes. We went with the pasta dish and it was good. The pasta is $10 on its own, with an extra charge for the protein of your choice. Machine also has a selection of Communal Cocktails that serves 2-4. Prices are on the high side if you are thinking of just one person getting a drink, but since you can share them, the cost goes down. For Happy Hour, the prices are cut in half. I am not much of a cocktail person, but I did have this Breakfast at Tiffany's (tenjaku gin, watermelon, berry and lemon) and I absolutely loved that! The presentation was lovely, with the drink being served in this lovely cut glass decanter with a flower in the neck of the decanter. Nice thing about Happy Hour is you can make a reservation to sit in the dining room and still order from the happy hour menu for eats and get the half off price drinks. A lot of places require you to sit in the bar area for these deals, but here you don't have to worry about rushing to get a space to enjoy. Service was good. Both times there, the servers were very nice and attentive. For the second visit, The Queen got a small bouquet made. Flowers are on the pricey side but they did look beautiful and lasted for several days when we got home. The Florist was nice and helpful in making recommendations and getting everything wrapped up to take home. All in all, we had a great time at Machine and definitely will be back again.
